As the Dean of the School of Nursing, you will have the opportunity to help us expand access, cultivate innovation and impact Central Florida economical and educational growth, by preparing many more of our students for rewarding nursing careers in many of the largest hospitals in our region.

Valencia College is already expanding its Associate in Science in Nursing from 350 to more than 700 graduates over the next few years, and in August 2018 will begin offering a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

In this position you will lead the academic, fiscal, and operational areas of the School of Nursing within Valencia College in close partnership with the Campus President and with colleagues around the College. You will be responsible for ensuring all facets of School plans are aligned with and fulfill the college's strategic priorities and direction.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Have education and experience commensurate to a doctorate from a regionally accredited institution [preferred], master's degree required.

  • Possess leadership experience appropriate to a senior leadership role in higher education.

  • Demonstrate evidence of genuine expertise and experience in teaching and learning, including direct experience in teaching and program design at the Associate and Baccalaureate levels.

  • Have experience in applying instructional technologies.

  • Demonstrate successful record of innovative academic leadership and commitment to the highest standards of academic quality and institutional and personal integrity.

  • Possess experience in cultivating and sustaining partnerships with healthcare affiliates, community agencies, and industry.

  • Possess experience in financial analysis, budget development and the design and assessment of administrative support systems. Experience with grant and grant management.

  • Have experience in analyzing, interpreting and disseminating student engagement, academic and outcome data.
